There is a lot for families to enjoy at Pacific Asia Museum; here are some particular highlights. Remember, kids ages 11 and under always get in free!

 Journeys: the Silk Road

Our newest permanent gallery is a fun hands-on exploration of the legendary Silk Road. Dress up as a trader, monk, camel handler, dancer, artisan or silk maker, plan your journey on the maps, relax in a tent, touch real silkworm cocoons, and more.

 Silk Road Storytime

First Saturday of every month at 10:30am
Gather in the travelers’ tent for fabulous tales from along the Silk Road. Included with admission.

Himalyan Festival Boy
 Family Tour

Second Saturday of every month at 11am
Enjoy a docent-led tour of collection highlights in a family-friendly format. Best for ages 4 and up, adult participation required. Free, but reservations required; call
(626) 449-2742 ext. 31.

 Free Family Festivals

Held about three times a year, Saturday afternoon Family Festivals are some of our most popular events! In addition to free admission to the galleries, visitors of all ages enjoy live music, crafts, cultural dance, demonstrations and hands-on activities.

Paksitan Family Festival
May 1, 12noon-4pm

Celebrate the arts and culture of Pakistan! Enjoy music, crafts, demonstrations, dance performances, and more! Explore the galleries on your own or come early for a family friendly docent-led tour at 11am. Free.

 Thai New Year Celebration

Silk Road Storytime

April 10, 12noon-4pm
Celebrate Songkran! Enjoy live music, classic dance and art demonstrations, learn how to "wai", explore the galleries, and more! Great for all ages.

With museum admission, free to members and children 11 and under.
